LaWanda Irene Merrill, age 78, passed away at Harrah Nursing Center April 9, 2013. She was born in Hollis, Oklahoma, January 23, 1935 to Francis Roy and Kathryn Elizabeth Josephine (Gee) Peden. She had work in retail sales most of her life and was the first female salesman in Borger, TX at the Chevrolet Dealership. The Chicago Bears was her favorite football team. Traveling in the RV to the valley was one of her enjoyments along with crocheting, her church and especially her grandchildren. Proceeding her in death are her parents; her husbands: Charley Allred and Gailon Merrill; one daughter, Juathenia Allred Hubbard. Survivors include: three daughters: Pam Allred McBride and husband Nicky of Choctaw, Renee Merrill Dowell of Athens, TX, and Trena Merrill Williams and husband, Doug of Athens, TX; two sons: Gary Merrill of Athens, TX and Brett Merrill and wife, Ketha of Athens, TX; also thirteen grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren and one on the way; two sisters: Neta Gay Mussa of Broken Arrow, OK and Judy Jolley and husband J.R. of Choctaw, OK; and many other family members and friends. Funeral services directed by Bill Eisenhour Northeast Funeral Home will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, April 13, 2013 at Abounding Grace Baptist Church in Choctaw, OK with burial to follow at Lawnview Cemetery in Cordell, OK.
