Judy Carolyn Beets

Judy Carolyn Beets left peacefully, surrounded by family on March 20, 2024. Born on September 2, 1946, in Conroe, Texas, to Katie and Rufus Albert Jordan, she was a devoted wife to her late husband, Benjamin Walter Beets for 44 years, and a loving mother to her daughters Tracie, Kim, and Bobbie.

Known for her bold and fiery personality, Judy's vibrant spirit and infectious laugh left an unforgettable impression on all who knew her.

Judy was a true Texan at heart, but loved her life in Oklahoma and the family and friends that made it her home for almost 50 years. She made her career in her community. She was not afraid of hard work. She was a leader and example of that kind of work ethic and character to everyone who was fortunate enough to see her pouring her all into what she did. She would not back down from a fight for those she loved, so if she considered you friend or family, you had a true champion in your corner! Not only did she show this dedication to her 3 daughters and their families, but truly with countless others who she met along her journey. Complete strangers at work soon affectionately called her “Mom” or “Grandma” and knew she would fight for them too!

She was a smiling face in the service industry until she retired from her many years in management at Sonic and BWW. Even on the weekends you could find her at the gates of the community baseball fields, and if there were tournaments during the week you could bet you would see her smiling face sitting behind the ticket booth. She brought smiles to the kids young and old who passed by her. She knew how to win the hearts of the children with a few fun stamps on the backs of their hands, and she became a familiar friendly face to the parents that got to know her well over the years.

Active in her community, Judy always lent a helping hand wherever it was needed. There was no getting her to sit down if she knew she could be of help, and that’s just what she did. As a member of Mustang Christian Church for over 30 years she lived out her faith taking on every opportunity to serve and make a difference in her world. Her heart was for people, and she touched more lives through her dedication to being His hands and feet than most will ever know.

When she wasn’t hard at work she could be found watching her favorite shows, rooting for her favorite teams, sitting in her favorite spot in the sunshine, and warming the hearts of her family. Her love for those things brought joy to her life and the lives of those around her.

Judy was a tenacious wife, mother, sister, and friend. Everybody knew that above all, she adored her role as a Mema, to her many grandchildren and great grandchildren. It was clear she loved them all fiercely! Rain or shine you could find her in the crowd. She was the loudest and the proudest, cheering her grandkids on in the things they were involved in over the years.

She was no less of a cheerleader to her great grandchildren. The smile on both her face and theirs when they heard her calling their name was a priceless gift. She was no doubt the biggest fan in the stands of their lives.

Her work here on earth may be done, and we will all no doubt miss her voice in the crowd, but she has finished her race and was welcomed into eternity by the cheers and applause of those who went on before her.

It brings us all great pride and joy to know she is finally with her Lord. He is no doubt, allowing her to get back to work for Him, looking over the ones she left behind, and telling the ones who went before all about the goings on of her “kids” here on earth.

In addition to her parents, Judy is preceded in death by her husband, Walter Benjamin Beets, and her brothers Leon Jordan, Armon Jordan, and Rufus Albert Jordan Jr. She is also preceded in death by her sister-in-law, Jennie Jordan.

Judy is survived by her sisters Julie Geneva Johnson and Janora Miller, as well as Janora's husband Kenneth. Her children, Tracie Brady and husband Dave, Kimberly Quijas and husband Jaime, and Bobbie Britt and husband Danny, her ten grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren. Judy’s life, along with her love for her nieces, nephews, friends, and community have left a legacy to be cherished by all for years to come.

No matter how you came to know her, Judy's life was a testament to her unwavering faith in God and her family. Her infectious laugh and ferocious love, will be greatly missed by all the paths she crossed and lives that were touched by the privilege of knowing her. Though she will be deeply missed, her memory will forever live on in the hearts of everyone blessed enough to have known this champion of the faith and found themselves in her corner.
