Joseph Grossman, 84, the son of Simon and Rebecca (Kaplan) Grossman was born Sept 20, 1927 in Bayonne, New Jersey. He passed away Feb 29, 2012 at his home in Edmond, OK. He worked as an airplane mechanic while proudly serving his country in the U.S. Navy from 1945 to 1967. He also was employed by the U.S. Postal service for 12 years. He was a member of the American Legion, DAV, Fleet Reserve Assoc. and attended Temple B’Nai Israel in Oklahoma City, OK. He was very mechanical and loved working on any engine and being outside. Preceding him in death were his parents, four sisters, Sylvia Stern; Celia Helfgott; Beatrice Brenner; and Rose Lawrence. Survivors include his wife, Ellen of the home; one son, Matthew Grossman of Indiana; 3 stepchildren, Janyce Rhoads (Stan) of Piedmont, OK; Regina McDowell of Lexington, OK; and Bradley McDowell (Kay) of Warr Acres, OK; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild. Funeral services will be held Friday, March 2, 2012 at 1:00pm at Bill Eisenhour Northeast Funeral Home in Oklahoma City, OK with burial to follow military honors at Arlington Memory Gardens in Midwest City, OK. Arrangements are under the direction of Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home, Oklahoma City, OK.
