Jimmie Ethel Luton was born June 4, 1922 in Ardmore, Oklahoma to the union of Jim and Sylvia (Conner) Nickels and passed away on September 24, 2016 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She was the youngest of five girls. Jimmie was employed as an inventory specialist at Safeway Foods where she met the love of her life Ben. Jimmie married Ben K. Luton on June 3, 1945. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 60 years Ben K. Luton, her sisters; Mildred Forrest, Ruth Woolf, Nellie Thoma and Lena McInturff and grandson Kirk Luton. Her devotion to her family and her displays of unconditional love will always be remembered. Jimmie was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church of Oklahoma City where she and her husband taught 4 year olds Sunday School for nearly 25 years. She is a graduate of Central High School in Oklahoma City and attended OU for two years. Jimmie loved flowers and was employed as floral designer for more than 25 years in the floral business, first at Woods Floral then at Morrison’s Flowers. She loved doing seek-a-word puzzles and Wheel of Fortune. The family wishes to express a special thank you to the staff at Integris Hospice House for the heartfelt care given to Jimmie during her stay. Jimmie leaves to cherish her life and memories two sons; Richard (Patti) Luton of Mustang, Ok, and Dan Luton of Oklahoma City. Ok, grandchildren; Greg (Jamie) Luton of Mustang, Ok, Kim (Tony) Holden of Edmond, Ok, Jennifer (Thom) Awbrey of El Reno, Ok, Eric Luton and Michael Laub of Oklahoma City. Great grandchildren; Keegan Luton, Hallie Luton, Bryce Luton, Cole Luton, Anna Holden, Christian Holden, Zakry Rios, Kaitlyn Awbrey, J.T. Awbrey and Casey Laub, nieces; Peggy Wheeler and Cindy Taylor and nephew Ronnie McInturff.
