Jim was a lifelong resident and active member within the Oklahoma City area; the son of Gust and Stravrula (DeMoplos) Stavros. Jim proudly served our country in the United States Marine Corp during the Korean Conflict. After, he attended school at Oklahoma A & M College. He had many personal and professional accomplishments including ownership of Greek’s Restaurant and Club for many years and then worked as manager for 17 years of Twin Hill Country Club. He was a mason for 50 years; loved fishing and was a passionate supporter of the US Marine Corp and OU Football. In March of 2010, he married Marcia Sue Perry, combining a large loving family. He is survived by his wife, Marcia Sue Stavros; two sons, Jimmy Howard Stavros and Phil Stavros and his wife, Mollie; Step-sons, Rick, Russell and Randy Riley; a beloved brother, Peter Gust Stavros; 14 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other extending family. Jim was preceded in death by his parents; the mother of his sons and first wife, Nancy and a sister, Tasea Canlloes.
A Prayer Service will be held 7:00 p.m., Friday evening at Chapel Hill Funeral Home prior to Funeral Services, 10:30 a.m., Saturday, January 11, 2013 at St. George Greek Orthodox Church with interment to follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
