James Remmers Streeter, of Bethany, OK went to his final resting place on June 5th, 2018 to be with his beloved wife, Edith, who preceded him, in death. Jim was 101 and was born in 1916 to Joe and Lucille (Aultman) Streeter in Oklahoma City. As a young boy, he caddied at the Oklahoma City Golf and Country Club. Before the war, he worked for the Army Corp of Engineers in New Orleans, LA, where he met and married Edith. He served in the US Army, 948th ENGR ANU Topographic Co during World War II, drawing maps and bombing runs into Germany and Japan among others. After the war, he graduated in 1948 from Oklahoma University in publishing. He worked at the Daily Oklahoman and then OSU in the publishing department. Upon retirement, he returned to Oklahoma City settling in Bethany, OK. He is preceded in death by his sister. Mary Seal. He is survived by his niece, Susan Willie of Las Vegas, NV, and his nephews Michael Seal from Las Vegas, NV, Guy Seal and Gary Seal of Vancouver, WA, Brady Seal from Las Vegas, NV and his cousin Richard “Pete” Remmers of Oklahoma City, OK. Interment will be June 18, 2018 at Chapel Hill Cemetery.
