family was by his side. Jim was born on October 18, 1928, in Oklahoma City to Gladys
and Bart Law. After graduating from Shattuck Military Academy, he attended OU, where
he was the President of Sigma Alpha Epsilon, and earned a degree in Geology. He worked
in the oil business for the next 40 yrs. Jim served in the Army as a Lt. and as a Trustee for
Casady School, among many other committees and boards. He married Marilyn Morey on
July 22, 1985. They enjoyed 30 wonderful years together, especially at their home in
Colorado; gardening and picnicking with family and friends that loved visiting. He enjoyed
golfing, tennis, and errands with Marilyn. Jim is preceded in death by his parents and
survived by his wife Marilyn and children, Janell Flanery (Kevin), her
sons Bart (Julie) and Scott Shelley; Tricia Law, her children Mary Lynn, Peter, and
Janell Fryer; James Barton Law Jr., his children J.B., Kay and Kelly Law; Sherri Cooper,
children Lauren and Cody Cooper, Leslie Palmquist, children Justin and Laura, Melissa
Fletcher, children Jay and Maggie; Tripp Cunningham (Jane) and daughter Lilly. He is
also survived by his sister Mrs. Jean L Everest, her sons Jim (Christy), Pete (Shirley),
and Chip (Gayle) Everest. As well as, many grandchildren, great nephews and nieces;
and great-great nephews and nieces. All of whom had a very special place in his heart.
A private Family Memorial will be held Thursday, March 5. In lieu of flowers, donations
may be made to the Jimmy Everest Center, 1200 N. Phillip Ave., OKC, 73104 or to
