Homer Edward Page Jr.

Homer Edward Page, Jr died Friday, September 23, 2011 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He was born May 26, 1930 in Lawton Oklahoma; his parents were Homer Edward Page Sr. and Bernice Johnson Page. He graduated in 1948 from Lawton High School. He was activated in September 1950 with the 45th Division – Oklahoma National Guard where he served in the Korean Action Conflict.

He was the owner and operator of Page’s Casual Shop, a clothing store for young men. Later, Homer owned and operated The Hem Shop and worked every day until August 2011. He took tremendous pride in his work and enjoyed visiting with his many customers. He was active in several civic organizations including the Masonic Lodge 540, India Shrine Temple as well as a lifetime member of the Elks Lodge. Homer was active in the Lawton Fort Sill Jewish Community. He was also active in the Lawton Fort Sill Art Council and was known for his wood carvings. He volunteered countless hours for the Lawton Heritage Association.

On August 12, 2011, Homer was married 55 years to Minnette Zak Page. He is survived by his wife, 2 daughters – Myrna Rae Page of Oklahoma City and Brenda Ellen Page of Plano Texas and 4 grandchildren: Zak Lyon Byrne, Eli Jacob Byrne, Sydney Page Byrne and Page Rebecca Lemont.

Rabbi Abby Jacobson will officiate the graveside service beginning at 2 pm on Sunday, September 25, 2011 at Temple B’Nai Israel Cemetery, 13400 North Kelly in Oklahoma City, OK 73131. The meal of condolence and the first shiva minyan will be held in Lawton, at the home of Minnette Page 1619 NW 25th Street, Lawton at 6:00 pm. In lieu of flowers the family request that contributions be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children – Houston 6977 Main Street; Houston, TX 77030-3701
