Glen was born in Calvin, Oklahoma to parents Robert and Stella Wilbanks on September 19th, 1929. Here he attended Calvin Public Schools. After his school years Glen joined the Army in August of 1950. He fought in the Korean War and was honorably discharged in August of 1953. Glen went on to meet his wife, Beverly Anne Myers, and on July 19th, 1953 the two were married in Hugoton, Kansas.
Following his stent in the military Glen worked in the oil and gas industry for Northern Natural Gas Company as a well operator. In earlier years he attended Pershing Avenue Christian Church in Liberal, Kansas where he served as a deacon. Glen was always willing to lend a helping hand, doing tasks such as mowing the church lawn, painting, and general upkeep.
Following his retirement in the oil and gas industry, Glen drove a school bus for 5 years for Liberal Public Schools. He enjoyed driving the teams to various sporting events and interacting with younger children on his daily route. Glen was an avid fan of OU football, growing up he would listen to OU's games on the radio. Every year he would anxiously await for football season to begin in the fall, and would plan his weekend schedule around OU's games.
In 1992 Glen and Beverly moved to Edmond, Oklahoma to be closer to family. With this move Glen and Beverly transitioned to attending Westside Christian Church. Glen had a passion for helping and being of service to others. He will be deeply missed by all of those who knew him.
Glen is survived by his daughter, Susan Moore and her husband Ken of Edmond, OK; son, Robert Wilbanks and his wife Martina of Littleton, CO; grandchildren: Kristin Mannschreck, Cassi Anderson, Carrie Wilbanks, and Clayton Wilbanks; and eleven great-grandchildren.
Glen was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Stella Wilbanks; Wife, Beverly Myers-Wilbanks; Brothers, Robert, Wallace, Harry, and Jack. As well as one grandson, Justin Moore.
A Celebration of Life will be held for Glen at 10:00 am, Saturday, November 20th, 2021 at Baggerley Funeral Home located at 930 S. Broadway, Edmond, Oklahoma 73034.
Memorial contributions can be made in Glen's honor to Cookson Hills Children's Home in Kansas, Oklahoma & Westside Christian Church in Yukon, Oklahoma.
