George Wythe Munford, Jr., died May 16, 2019. He was born on May 18, 1930 to Rose and Wythe Munford. A lifetime Nichols Hills resident, he attended Classen High School and the University of Oklahoma, where he became a member of Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity. In 1959 he founded the George Wythe Co., a Wholesale Hardware Distributor and in 1969 added a Real Estate Division. After 27 years he sold the Hardware Division, but continued as a Real Estate Broker. He was a very active volunteer including serving on the Board of Directors of the Lyric Theatre and Log Cabin Republicans and was a member of the Frist Christian Church where he had served as a Deacon and Chairman of the Board of Elders. He was a member of the Oklahoma City Golf and Country Club and the Allied Arts Circle Club. He owned a home on Lake Eufaula where he loved to entertain many friends. He is survived by his husband Kent Campbell and many friends. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, May 21, 2019 at 11:00 am in the Hahn-Cook/Street & Draper Chapel.
