Gary Lynn Stroud, 78 years old, of Midwest City, Oklahoma, died December 31, 2023, peacefully in his home surrounded by his family. He was born on September 2, 1945, to Velmon and Nola Stroud in Scotland, Arkansas.
Gary graduated from Scotland High School in 1963, attended the University of Arkansas graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering in 1968, and earned his Masters of Business Administration in 1981 from the University of Central Oklahoma. He married Sue Swain in a private ceremony in Morrilton, Arkansas on September 10, 1966, and was married to her for 57 years. He worked in civil service at Tinker Air Force Base Air Logistics Center retiring in 2004 after 37 years of service.
Gary was an elder at the Nicoma Park Church of Christ for 6 years in which he led many people to Christ. He was a devoted Christian and taught many Sunday school classes over the years. He is survived by his spouse Sue, his children Paul, Greg, and Daniel Stroud, and grandchildren Mark Stroud, Jason Stroud, and Harry Guillen.
The viewing will be at Eisenhour Funeral Home 8805 NE 23rd Street, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on Friday, January 5, 2024, from 4 to 8 PM. The memorial service will be held at Nicoma Park Church of Christ at 2024 Overholser Drive Nicoma Park, Oklahoma on January 6, 2024, at 1230 PM.
