Donald R. Yelton passed away on January 19, 2022 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Don was born July 2, 1946 to Virgil and Martha (Brownie) Yelton. He grew up in NE Oklahoma City and graduated from NE High School. Don had a love for motorcycles and began working at a motorcycle shop at the age of 14. By 16 he was the night watchman at the Oklahoma City Zoo, while he was attending high school during the day. Don joined the United States Marine Corp in 1968 and proudly served his country in Vietnam. Don spent 30 years at Tinker Air Force Base and retired in 2006. Don not only had a love for motorcycles but also a love for golfing, collecting golf clubs, snow skiing, flea markets, garage sales, and for any bargain he could find. He also enjoyed sitting at the farm watching things grow and the birds & squirrels play. Most of all he loved his family.
Don was preceded in death by his parents Virgil and Brownie Yelton, his son Cris, who was his world. He is survived by his daughter Angi Yelton, of Norman, OK, daughter in law Brandy Yelton of Jones, OK, grandsons Cody Yelton of Tulsa, OK, Logan Yelton of Edmond, OK, Dalton Hanson of Midwest City, OK and granddaughter Hailey Hanson, of Midwest City, OK.
A visitation for Donald will be held Monday, January 24, 2022 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home, 8805 NE 23rd Street, Oklahoma City, OK 73141. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at the Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow at Arlington Memory Gardens, Midwest City, OK.
