David Preston Smelser passed away June 30, 2014 after a courageous battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife Andrea, mother, Marilyn, and brother, Scott, as well as countless family, extended family, and many friends.
David was a man of few words and it was his wish to keep his obituary short. The family in no way meant to leave anyone out.
David was a terrific husband, son, brother, uncle and friend. He felt so much love from everyone in his family and from many loyal, longtime friends.
He graduated from Heritage Hall High School and the University of Oklahoma where he was a Sigma Chi. He was confirmed at All Souls Episcopal Church.
David was a sailor, pilot, golfer, and loved traveling all over the world. He was a huge fan of James Bond movies and loved cars, especially his 67’ Triumph Spitfire that he restored to look like new. He enjoyed cooking with his wife Andrea, entertaining family and friends, a good glass of scotch, and lived a very adventurous and full life. He and his playful ways will be dearly missed.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Jimmy V Foundation, The Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation, or a charity of choice.
