Christopher Walter Beatty passed away on May 1, 2010, at Deaconess Hospital, surrounded by his loving family and dear friends. Chris was born on March 6, 1953 in Amarillo, Texas. He grew up in Oklahoma City, graduated from John Marshall High School and attended Oklahoma State University.
Chris was an electrical contractor in Oklahoma City for many years. He enjoyed golfing, sailing, and grilling out with family and friends. Chris had a wonderful smile and a witty word for everyone he met. His charm allowed him to make countless friends throughout his lifetime.
Chris was preceded in death by his parents Walter E. Beatty, Jr. and Sarepta Belle Robinson Beatty “Tippy.” Chris is survived by his wife, Nancy, of 31 years, and his children, Brandy Lynn Rowe, Edward Byron Rowe and Shaylee Alexandria Rowe, all of Oklahoma City.
He is also survived by his brother, Bruce Beatty and Bruce’s two sons Westin and Zane, his Aunt, Gloria Delores Kerns, all of Oklahoma City, and several cousins, including Dr. William R. McGrath of Monrovia, California, Royan McGrath McClesky of Southlake, Texas, Kathy McGrath Prichard of Royce City, Texas, Vincent Kerns of New York, Philip Michael Kerns of California and Valerie Jane Ravencraft of Oklahoma City, and five grandchildren, Larry, Taylor, TJ, Victoria and Elizabeth.
A celebration of his life will be held at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 6, 2010 at Hahn-Cook-Street & Draper, 6600 Broadway Extension, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
