Charles E. Wheeler, 81, was born on March 6, 1940 in Fair Grove, Missouri to Carl R. and Laura Marie (Huey) Wheeler. He was the baby of the family with four older sisters and one older brother. When Charles was 2, the family moved to Richmond, CA for his father’s job working in the shipyards. The family had several moves since 1944. They moved to Conway, MO, Amsterdam, MO, Springfield, MO, Cedar Rapids, IA, and back to Springfield, MO.
In 1966, Charles met and married Connie Avis Bowers and had two children; Lisa and Damon. They moved to Marshfield, MO and divorced in 1980. Shortly after, Charles moved back to Springfield, MO and then to the Oklahoma City are where he stayed until his passing. It’s there that he met and Married Shirley until her passing in 2008.
Charles lived in Del City, Jones and finally Choctaw; and after 30 years of trying, he finally accomplished one of his dreams… riding his motorcycle to Las Vegas.
He was a machinist and mechanic all of his life and had his own shop in the house garage in Jones, OK. He loved fast cars and even faster motorcycles, racing them whenever he could. Charles will be missed by many.
