Charles A. Matlock, 92, of Midwest City, OK passed away on July 22, 2021. He was born on July 16, 1929 in Anadarko, OK to parents Alfred and Gladys (Harmon) Matlock. Charles was raised in the Anadarko area, and he and his family were members of the Church of Christ. On Christmas Eve 1947, Charles married Betty Heavin and in 1964 Charles and his wife Betty moved to Midwest City. Charles worked as a consultant in the oil field, enjoyed watching old westerns, and spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Charles is preceded in death by his wife, Betty Matlock and 3 brothers, Bob, Alvin, and Walter Matlock. He is survived by his three children, Donald Matlock and wife Sue of Anadarko, OK; Linda Spoon and husband Leland of Chickasha, OK; and Charles Junior Matlock of Midwest City, OK; six grandchildren, Melody Hightower and husband Keith, Sonya Stephens and husband Mike, Juanita Spoon, Michelle Matlock, Justin Demattie, Melissa Casey and husband Kevin, and Ivan Matlock; Twelve great-grandchildren, Jerod Spoon, Jeremy Spoon and Chelsea, Brandy Hightower, Kody Hightower, Derek Stephens and wife Karen, Devon Stephens, Hobie Stephens, Brendon Taylor and Taylor Holmes, Brittany Kirby and husband Cole, Quinton Casey, Jayne Casey and Amazi Casey; five great-great-grandchildren, Sayer Bo Hightower, Baylor Lynn Hightower, Nova Spoon, Kynzleigh Taylor and Noah Stephens.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 27, 2021 at the Cement Cemetery in Cement, OK.
