Brenda Kay Sepkowitz, aged 70, passed away peacefully on December 29, 2019. She was born in Ada, Oklahoma on January 18, 1949 to Catherine and William Burch. Brenda grew up in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma where she attended Pauls Valley High School. As a young lady, she enjoyed spending free time with her grandparents O.G. and Vivian Hall, cheerleading, and driving her red convertible. After high school, she attended the University of Oklahoma, and then worked for the Oklahoma Department of Human Services. Shortly after graduating from college, she met the love of her life, Jerry Sepkowitz, and they later married on May 24, 1974. Friends and family describe Brenda as precious, kind, considerate and loyal to the end.
Brenda was fiercely devoted to her husband Jerry and only child Joshua. She also enjoyed a uniquely close relationship with her mother, Catherine. She liked OU football, traveling to numerous OU/Texas games in Dallas with her husband. Brenda considered Joshua to be her greatest accomplishment. She loved attending her son’s athletic, musical and academic events at Casady School. She enjoyed traveling with Jerry to Dallas to see her son during college and later to spend time with Joshua’s family. Family was Brenda’s passion.
Brenda is now with her parents and grandparents in heaven. She is survived by her husband, Jerry; son, Joshua; daughter-in-law, Jessica; granddaughter, Catherine; great-aunt, Neva; cousins Pam and Debbie and their wonderful families.
A graveside service will be held Thursday morning, January 2, 2020 at 10:30 a.m., at Temple B'nai Israel Cemetery, 13343 N. Kelley Ave., Oklahoma City, OK 73131. The family wishes to give special thanks to caregiver Odessya Cahon and Companion Healthcare. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Oklahoma Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association.
