Billie Dove Nix of Nicoma Park, Oklahoma, passed away on July 15, 2024, in Garfield, Arkansas. She was born in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma, on January 4, 1931, to parents John Larkey Cole and Hester Lee Cole. Billie had lived in Oklahoma just about all her life. She spent about 6 years in a nursing home in McLoud,
Oklahoma, where she was highly respected by others. As the patient organizer director, she helped voice the issues or concerns of the people staying at the nursing home to administrators. Billie put her own special touch on the nursing home by making an area into a flower garden.
Most people would remember Billie as someone who was full of energy, mentally sharp, and resourceful. Some things she enjoyed doing were needlework, embroidery, and crocheting. Billie is someone who has remained close to her Christian beliefs.
She is preceded in death by her husband Johnnie Nix; her four sisters; Wanda; Willie, Carolyn and Joy, her parents, John Larkey and Hester Lee Cole.
She is survived by her children Gary Marler (Judy Marler) of Prague, Oklahoma; Carron Dill (Jerry Dill) of Prague, Oklahoma; Melvin Marler (Martha Marler) of Harrah, Oklahoma; siblings Howard Cole of Eufaula, Oklahoma; Harold Cole (Virginia Cole) of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; grandchildren Angela (Jay); Judith; Tammy; Shelly; Kevin; Danny; Brian; 8 great-grandkids; 11 nieces; 6 nephews; and special friends Kelly Wishon and his mother Roma Lee.
A funeral service for Billie will be held Tuesday, July 23, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home, 8805 NE 23rd Street, Oklahoma City, OK 73141. Following the funeral service will be a burial from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Elmwood Cemetery, 1800 N Choctaw Rd, Choctaw, OK 73020.
