LaRuth was a lifetime resident of the state of Oklahoma. She accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age and held on to her faith until her death. She graduated from Boley High School and proceeded to earn a BA in Business at Langston University. She was employed by the State of Oklahoma in Personnel. In 1970, she joined the IBM Corporation as a MSR, teaching customers to utilize IBM equipment to improve their businesses. She earned her Master's Degree in Business Education at Oklahoma State University. She progressed through the ranks at IBM and after retirement in 1991, she enjoyed traveling, shopping, gardening, sewing and doing whatever she felt at the moment. She loved working in her yard; she spent many hours shopping, buying clothes that she would freely give to whomever they would fit. LaRuth was a very humble and private person.; she loved her family and quietly lived life with dignity and grace. She was a gentle soul, with a mischievous spirit that loved to pull practical jokes. She always sought to help others and touched many with her genuineness and compassion. As her illness progressed, she was assisted by Thomas and Dorothy Douglas, Gerald Harris, Janice (Toby) Harrison and Darius (DJ) Jackson to help her sustain her independent life. She will forever be cherished by her children, grandchildren, a special sister-in-law, Ethelyn(Top) Maloy , a large network of nephews, nieces, and friends. God has spoken, let the church say. "Amen."
