She was born in Decatur Georgia on July 11th 1939. She graduated from Avondale High School in Avondale Georgia in 1957, where she was also a majorette.
Anna was happily married to Richard Brown on April 17th 1960. Anna and Dick lived in Georgia, Tennessee, and then Michigan before moving to Oklahoma.
Anna kept busy throughout her life. She was a secretary for a defense contractor with the highest security clearance, a Girl Scout leader, a basketball coach, and an active member of the P.E.O. organization since 1976.
In her free time, she enjoyed bridge club, square dancing, and bowling leagues. Anna was also an avid frog collector for over 60 years amassing a collection in numbers everyone would like to know!
Anna was a longtime volunteer and church member of Crossings Community Church serving meals to students and delivering flowers to church members.
Anna enjoyed being a part of her family and friends lives. She sent a monthly rhyming calendar change notice to friends and family for the better part of 20 years. Anna was also a master seamstress, even making 2 of her daughter’s wedding dresses.
Mostly, Anna loved being a part of her grandchildren’s lives and watching them grow up and spending time with her beloved husband.
Anna is survived by her husband of 62 years, Richard Brown; Children, Kay Byrd and wife Gloria, Sheri Brown and finance Jeff Thompson, Vicki Cherry and husband Rob; Grandchildren, Nicole Kell and husband Greg, Terri Johnson, Ricky Langdon and husband Chris, Jimmy Johnson, Jessie Worden and husband Topher, Tucker Curry, Blake Cherry and wife Emma, Ryan Cherry and Adam Cherry.
A private family memorial service will be held for Anna on March 21st, 2023 at Memorial Park Funeral Home.
