Shirley M. Tracy

Shirley M. Tracy age 76, of Ogdensburg, NY, passed away peacefully Saturday March 29, 2025, at Canton Potsdam Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. A funeral service will be held Monday, April 7, 2025, at Fox & Murray Funeral Home at 5:00 PM with Pastor Reggie Curtis officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 3:00PM – 5:00PM. A Celebration of Life will take place on May 25, 2025, at 3:00PM at the Elks Lodge of Ogdensburg. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Fox & Murray Funeral Home.

Shirley was born on June 17, 1948, in Watertown, NY, to the late Leonard and June (Clothier) Castle. She graduated in the Class of 1966 from Ogdensburg Free Academy, and furthered her education at St. Peter’s School, earning her nursing degree. Shirley devoted much of her life to helping others, working for United Helpers and later for the St. Lawrence Psychiatric Center, where she served as a nurse for 24 years.

Shirley was a cherished member of the Lisbon Wesleyan Church and the Red Hat Society. She had a deep love for knitting, reading the Journal, participating in prayer groups, tending to her flowers, and watching and feeding birds. Above all, Shirley treasured the time spent with her grandchildren and loved ones.

Mrs. Tracy is survived by her husband of 57 years, Robert “Bob” Tracy Sr. of Ogdensburg; her sons, Robert Tracy Jr. and his wife Tracy of Gilbert, AZ, Thomas Tracy of Ogdensburg, NY, and Terrance “Terry” Tracy and his companion Joette of Rochester, NY; her sisters, Kathy Wilson of Waddington, and Nancy Sequin and her husband Barry of Germany; her grandchildren, Cody, Tess, Olivia, Ryan, Noah, and Nyya Tracy; her great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her parents, Leonard and June Castle.
