Funeral services for Roberta J. Driscoll, age 56 of Ogdensburg, will be held on Tuesday (Sept 4, 2018) at 2:00pm at the Fox & Murray Funeral Home with Pastor Floyd McCallum officiating. Burial will follow at the St. Mary’s Cemetery in Canton.
Calling hours will be held also on Tuesday from 11:00am until the time of the service at the funeral home. Mrs. Driscoll passed away on Wednesday evening (Aug 29, 2018) at Claxton Hepburn Medical Center surrounded by her loving family.
Surviving are her two children Sara Driscoll and Robert Driscoll both of Ogdensburg; sisters Jo Anne (Richard) Lockwood of Ogdensburg, Pamela (George) Coleman of Canton, Cindy Watson of Ogdensburg, Susan (Barry) Webb of Palmyra, Barbara Barney of Ogdensburg and Paula (Randy) Dillon of Madrid; brothers William Barney of Watertown, Michael (Marcy) Barney of Canton, David (Susan) Barney of Hermon; grandchildren Samara Santos age 10, Ivey Santos age 8 and Karter Washington age 2; sister-in-law Mary (Euclid) Cadrette of Lisbon; brother-in-law Lloyd (Sheila) Driscoll of Lisbon; close friends Amy Groulx, Lorie Bice, Stephanie Bowman & her children Destinee, Landon, Kayla, Briar, Scott & Colby. Also surviving are many nieces & nephews whom she was a special aunt to, and was always there for them.
Roberta was predeceased by her husband James F. Driscoll in 1994, two sisters Mary McGaw in 2015, Jane Elizabeth Barney in 1950, two brothers Jerry Barney in 2015 and a twin brother Robert Barney shortly after his birth.
Roberta was born on June 28, 1962 in Ogdensburg NY, a daughter of the late Stuart & Marie (Todd) Barney. She graduated from Hermon-Dekalb High School in 1980 where she was involved in volleyball, basketball, marching band and the National Honor Society. Shortly after graduation she began her career at the St. Lawrence Psychiatric Center as a secretary, and later retired from Riverview Correctional Facility due to illness in 2003.
Roberta was a member of the Lupus Foundation and enjoyed babysitting, spending time with her grandchildren and foster children, going to hunting camp and family gatherings.
