Robert H. Woods

Funeral services for Robert H. Woods age 57 of Congress Street in Ogdensburg, will be held on Thursday (August 18, 2011) at 10:00am at the Fox & Murray Funeral Home with Rev. Walter Smith officiating. Entombment will follow the service at Foxwood Memorial Park.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 2-4 & 6-8pm at the funeral home. Bob died Monday morning (August 15, 2011) at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Surviving is his wife Norma; three children Robert Woods Jr. & his wife Krista of Ogdensburg, Leslie Woods & her companion Travis Reed of Boston, MA, Angela Boyer & her companion Joseph Baxter of Columbus, OH; his mother Genevieve Woods of Ogdensburg; a sister Karen Cruikshank & her husband Basil of Lisbon; five grandchildren Broadie, Dakota & Blake Woods, Arianna Baxter and Hunter Hubbell; nephews Scott, Todd & Shaun Cruikshank and a niece Julie Cash.

Bob was born on December 22, 1953 in Ogdensburg, NY a son of Gordon & Genevieve (Tooley) Woods. He graduated from Ogdensburg Free Academy and continued his education at Canton ATC. On May 25, 1984 he married Norma Davis at the First Presbyterian Church in Ogdensburg with Rev. Thomas Patterson officiating the couple’s marriage.

During his career, he was employed at The Standard Shade Roller from 1972 – 1989, Prudential Insurance from 1990 – 1995 and then Corning Glass from 1996 - 2005 when he became disabled. He was a former Ogdensburg Minor Hockey Board Member and Kiwanis Baseball Coach. He enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s sporting events, camping, gardening, watching horse racing and betting on the races in Saratoga.
