I am saddened to hear of Lisa’s passing. What a shocker. She will be missed.

Condolences to the family of Lisa Gushia from a co-worker at St. Lawrence County Dept. of Social Services.

I worked with Lisa for many years in CPS.  I always appreciated her friendship, her beautiful smile, and her dedication.  She was truly an inspiration.  

I was fortunate enough to have known Lisa not only as a coworker but also as a friend. I was very saddened to hear of her passing. Lisa was so kind to me over the years. She would give me rides home on weekends from SUNY Potsdam and never minded waiting until my last class was done. As a coworker I valued her wisdom, guidance & advice. She was always there to listen when I needed someone to talk to. She could always make me laugh.  She demonstrated such strength & conviction.  DSS will not be the same without her.  She leaves a large void. I will miss her.  Thoughts & prayers to her family and may they be comforted by knowing Lisa had an impact on many lives for the better.

I was so saddened to hear of Lisa's passing. She was an inspiring woman with a wealth of knowledge. Lisa never missed a beat when it came to speaking up or letting people know what needed to be done. She took her job to heart and was a great mentor to many of us who watched her advocate for the children she worked with. She will be greatly missed.

I was shocked and saddened to hear of Lisa's passing. I also had the pleasure of working with Lisa for the past 20 years. Lisa was not afraid to tell you what she thought, and although sometimes I was afraid of what would come out of her mouth, most of the time it was what needed to be said! I will miss laughing with her until we cried at the things we witnessed while working together. All of those working in the field we work in are keenly aware that if you don't have a sense of humor you will not make it through the day much less the 35 years she dedicated to the children of St. Lawrence County. She was one of the toughest most stubborn people I've ever met and I had a great deal of respect for her. DSS will not be the same without her.  My thoughts and prayers go out to her family. 

I am so sad to hear about the passing of Lisa. I had the pleasure of working with Lisa as well.  Many days we walked into work together.  She was always an inspiration to me.   No matter how bad the weather was or how much of a struggle it was to get to work,  she always met me with a smile.   We might have grumbled about the cold winter mornings or how long it took us to get from Heuvelton to Canton, but it always ended on a positive note.  There was always the exchange of kind words for the day ahead as we entered the building and parted ways. The loss of Lisa is a big loss to our department as a whole.  She will be greatly missed.  My thoughts and prayers go out to her family at this difficult time. 

I was so sorry to hear of Lisa’ passing. I was also a fortunate co-worker.  We shared a mutual fondness for black cats, the Yankees and Detek Jeter. I enjoyed having the opportunity to work with her.

My Condolences go out to All the Gushea and Bellinger Families. Lisa helped me and my Children out on different occasions. She will be missed. She had a very kind soul.

Tim and I are so sorry to hear of Lisa's passing.  We both worked on 1st floor at DSS when she was a Social Welfare Examiner (I was a clerk) and on 3rd floor when she was a Caseworker and I was a Social Welfare Examiner.  She was always very kind and I enjoyed talking with her when I saw her.  Our thoughts and prayers are with you and the family.  May God hold you in the palm of his hand.

So very sorry for the passing of Lisa. Her parents, Ron and Bea, provided the best upbringing through neighborliness and caring for others. My sympathies to Mike, Ben, Donald, Ron, and Becky.

I will never watch a Yankee game or watch the Patriots or see Tom Brady and not think of Lisa!! She was a very passionate worker and good friend and I will miss her dearly 🙏

My brother Ray and I spent summers working with the Bellingers on the farm and have many fond memories as we were treated as more then just hired hands. I particularly remember how kind and hard working there whole family was and how the occasional meals we were invited to brought joy and laughter. Please accept our heartfelt condolences.

Mike...very sorry to read of Lisa's passing...our condolences to you and your family. 

I was one of those fortunate to have had the chance to work with Lisa. Loyal is one of the first words that comes to my mind when I think of her. She was always there for her coworkers, family and the kids she worked with. Lisa never complained no matter how hard a day she had at work or what was going on in her own life. I will miss her greatly.

I’m heartbroken and can’t even find the words.  Years at CPS and beyond ....Lisa was a one of a kind friend and mentor.  Ben and Mike.... thinking if you.  You gained an amazing angel.  

Lisa and I shared offices near each other several years ago. She would always take the time to ask me how my family was doing, while passing in the hall. I looked forward to our daily chats. She made me feel important and as small of a gesture that was, it meant a lot to me! She was a kind person who I know will be deeply missed.  My thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends during this difficulty time. 

I am  still shocked and saddened to learn of your passing. You dedicated your life to the children and families of St. Lawrence County and our unit will not be the same without you. I will also remember that you always spoke your mind and advocates for what you felt was right. You will truly be missed. Your family is in my thoughts and prayers and I hope you can rest peacefully. 💙

Mike, Ben and family. I am so sorry for your loss and very saddened to hear of Lisa’s passing. I was fortunate to be one of Lisa’s co-workers at DSS for a Long time. Lisa was one determined individual who never wanted to slow down and take it easy. Lisa was a very strong willed woman but had the heart of a marshmallow when it came to the children she worked with over her 32 plus years as a caseworker or worried about a stray cat around her home.  Lisa would always have a goody treat bag for the teens that she provided services when they came to St. Lawrence county, Lisa came to work everyday to make a difference with the families she worked with. Lisa will be greatly missed but never forgotten.  

Heartbroken. I enjoyed working with Lisa. So much respect for the warrior that she was.  She always had a smile. 

So sad to read this. Lisa was one of the strongest women I know. She was an amazing co-worker and friend. Will never forget the good times we had working together in CPS.
