A Memorial Service for Kenneth D. Dawson, age 83 of Heuvelton and formerly of Ogdensburg, will be held on Saturday (January 14, 2017) at 11:00am at St. John’s Episcopal Church with Rev. Dr. Michael O’Donnell officiating. Burial will be at Pinehill Cemetery on the Eelweir Road in the spring.
Calling hours will also be on Saturday from 10:00am until the time of the service at the church. Mr. Dawson passed away at Riverledge Healthcare Facility on Friday (Jan 6, 2017) where he had been a resident since June of 2016.
Surviving is his son Brenden Dawson & his wife Judy of Heuvelton; a sister Natalie “Nan” Sheets of Waddington; grandchildren Mara, Camille, Bradyn & Paytn Dawson and a great-grandson Hayes Adams.
His wife Frances and two brothers William & Charles Dawson predeceased him.
Kenny was born on August 16, 1933 in Ogdensburg NY, a son of the late William & Beatrice (Foote) Dawson. He graduated from Ogdensburg Free Academy and entered the US Airforce. He later married Frances M. Rheome on August 9, 1958 at St. John’s Episcopal Church.
During his career he was employed at the St. Lawrence Psychiatric Center as a Therapy Aide, retiring in May of 1990. He was a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church and was a former member of the Ogdensburg Men’s and Couple’s bowling leagues for many years.
