W J Ray

W J Ray, 79, of Odessa went to be with his Lord and Savior, and united with his wife Patricia, Saturday, August 6, 2011 at Medical Center Hospital. He was born February 15, 1932 in Saint Jo, TX. He married Patricia Jean Vaughn on May 31, 1953 in Reno, NV. She preceded him in death on December 31, 1996. He was a U.S Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a truck driver for United Vision Logistics for 31 years.

He is survived by his sons, Ronald Ray & Richard Ray both of Odessa, Ramond Ray & wife Angela of The Colony, TX, & daughter Cathy Jackson & husband Rex of Bonham, TX. Also survived by brothers-in-law, Gary Vaughn of Santa Barbara, CA, Russell Vaughn & wife Linda of Ruidoso, NM, (13) grandchildren & (6) great-grandchildren, & many nieces, nephews & friends.

He was a faithful Christian and member of Northside Baptist Church.

There will be a visitation from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, August 11, 2011 at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 12, 2011 at Northside Baptist Church with Rev. Clydell Chapman officiating Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
