Dickie was born June 16, 1944 to Stanley Eddie & Marion (Lucas) Dickerson in Knightdale, North Carolina. He was the oldest of five children. The family moved around during his youth, before settling in Odessa when Dickie was in Junior High School, then he attended Permian High School.
Dickie began his career selling tires at Montgomery Wards, in Big Spring, at 17. In the 1970's he started Quality Truck Tires in Big Spring, later moving the business to Odessa. Eventually, Dickie sold his business to Southern Tire Mart, but he continued to work there. His passion for the business revolved around the lifelong relationships he had with his customers.
Dickie had raised and raced pigeons since he was 14. He won many trophies and money over the years, and currently has 300 pigeons. Dickie raced motorcycles early in life and continued his love of Honda & Harley Davidson's throughout his life. He and his wife, Jena, would often go on short and long rides. Dickie loved attending motorhome & motorcycle rallies, where he could meet new people and show off all his cool toys!
Dickie will be remembered for the relationships he built over the years, his skills in playing gin, track suits and his love of family and friends. Dickie loved life and will be missed by all who knew him.
He is preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Bronson Dickerson; sister, Rose Marie McMasters; nephew, Eddie Dickerson; and great-niece, Sydney Dickerson.
Dickie is survived by his wife of 27 years; children, Brian Dickerson, Melissa (Dale) Beaty, Desmond (Deanna) Dickerson, Stan Dickerson, Candy (Pat) Mahaffey, Bobby Davenport, Cade (Kelsey) Conatser, Landon Conatser, and Patricia Guerra (Joseph); grandchildren, Chelsi, Jordan, Kensie, Kallie, Lanee, Cadence, Aedan, Colton, Bentlee, Briley, Briston, Collier, Bailey, Karley; and great-grandson, Atlas.
A visitation for Dickie will be held Tuesday, October 31, 2023 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home, 601 N Alleghaney Ave, Odessa, Texas 79761. A funeral service will occur Wednesday, November 1, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Crossroads Church, 6901 E Hwy 191, Odessa, Texas 79762.
Dickie will be laid to rest in Sunset Memorial Gardens, 6801 E I-20 Business Loop, Odessa, Texas 79762.
