Shirley loved being a wife and considered herself doubly blessed. She also loved being a mother and she especially loved being called Grandma. Shirley was a proud member of Greenfield Acres Baptist Church and a charter member of The Hope Sunday School Class. Grandma Shirley was a hard working woman and she took any job serious, whether it was at home or running the church kitchen. She even whacked the preacher with a wooden spoon a time or two. She was a very talented woman, whether it be wood working, painting or crocheting and was in charge of the Krafty Tuesday group for many many years. There was no task to big or too small for her.
Shirley was a true blessing to everyone she met and she never met a stranger.
Shirley will lie in state 9:00 am to 9:00 p.m. Friday, February 14, 2014 with family visitation 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 15, 2014 at Greenfield Acres Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Bartlett officiating.
