Sherrie Smith Johnson

Sherrie was born and raised in East Texas where she attended high school in Ore City and married Troy L. Johnson September of 1976 and welcomed their son, Michael on November of 1977.

Sherrie was the oldest of her 7 brothers and sisters. A surrogate mother figure to many nieces and nephews.

Sherrie loved fiercely and once you were a part of her heart, nothing could separate you from her.

Sherrie lived a great example of God’s grace which she passed down to her son and granddaughter, Kinzie. With a bleeding heart for all in need, especially animals, her compassion will be dearly missed.

Family will receive friends from 6-8 pm Thursday, April 14, 2016 at Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.

Funeral services will be 10am Friday, April 15, 2016 at Frank W. Wilson Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

She was preceded in death by father Leon Smith, grandma Thelma “Mamaw” Baxter and Papaw Slick, four brothers, Mark Anthony Andrews, Sterling Scott Rouse, Jodie Rouse and Kevin McClendon.

She is survived by her ex husband Troy L. Johnson, mother Barbara Rouse and her husband Sterling of Gladewater, TX, son Michael Johnson and his wife Stefani of Odessa, sisters Teresa Benson and husband Donnie of Ozark Missouri, Denise McAlister of Gladewater, one granddaughter, Mackinzie Nicole Johnson of Odessa. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and many friends. The family would like to thank you all for the out pouring of love and prayers.
