He took great pride in his work he would always say "whatever you do, do your best!". He was known to all by Uncle Sam. He was a steel bolt tank builder for 30 years. Everyone he came in contact with was a friend. He was loved by all. He will always be remembered as hardworking, God fearing, respected, resilient, strong, a jokester, a Denver Bronchos fan but mostly he will be remembered as the best father, grandpa, great grandpa, brother and friend. His favorite saying was I'm not alone its me and Jesus.
He is survived by son Steve Cervantez of Odessa, Tx daughter Linda Barragan of Odessa Tx, brother John Cervantez of Lubbock Tx, sisters Ester and Joe Mendoza of Friona, Tx , Ruth and Jim Rupp of San Angelo Tx, 9 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 1 great great granddaughter.
He is preceeded in death by his wife of 52 years Josefa Cervantez, son Ernest Cervantez, daughter in law Paula Beegle Cervantez, mother Virginia Cervantez and father Ysrael Cervantez.
A memorial service will be held on January 3, 2022 at 7:00 pm at Odessa Funeral Home Chapel
Viewing will be held on 1-2-2022 9:00 am to 9:00 pm and 1-3-2022 at 9:00 am-6:00 pm
Funeral Service will be held on January 4, 2022 at 2:00 pm at Templo Buenas Nuevas located on 5th and Vine with Wanda Hill Varela and Deanna Hill Galindo officiating.
Pallbearers will be Gustavo Mejia. Armando Medrano, Joseph Mejia, Samuel Barragan, Samuel Barragan Jr. and Johnny Barragan.
