Linda Denise Perry, age 55, was born March 31st, 1968, in Hollandale, Mississippi to the late Gladies and Alfred Williams. She transitioned to heaven on July 30th, 2023, leaving behind a legacy that touched the lives of many. She was married to the love of her life, Donald Perry, on December 2nd, 1988. She was a daughter, sister, wife, mom, Nan, friend, and role model. Linda was a remarkable woman whose life was a testament to love, dedication, and resilience.
She was a loving mother to three beautiful children, Donta, Dakota, and Denycea. Her devotion to her children was unparalleled. She poured her heart and soul into nurturing them, instilling in them the values of kindness, compassion, and Godliness. Her unconditional love served as a guiding light, providing strength and support through life’s challenges. She was a mother to many. Opening her arms and home to whoever was in need without question. She always gave and provided without expecting anything in return.
Linda was also an educator. She taught at Ross Elementary, Cavazos Elementary, and Ector College Prep Middle School. Her passion for knowledge and her commitment to the growth of young minds were evident in every classroom she graced. For years, she devoted herself to shaping the futures of countless students, leaving an indelible mark on their hearts and minds.
Most importantly, she was a God-fearing woman. She found solace and inspiration in her faith. Her unwavering belief in the power of prayer and the goodness of God brought comfort to those around her during difficult times. She served the Lord every day of her life and taught her children to do the same.
After losing her husband in 1999, Linda raised all three children alone. She experienced the heartache of her husband’s passing, yet she carried her cherished memories of Don in her heart, finding strength in the love they shared and the memories they created together. As a single mother to three young children, Linda demonstrated immense strength and determination navigating life’s obstacles and with grace and strength. Once all three of her children graduated college, she went back and received her own B.A in Education. With God, she knew all things were possible. Although she is no longer with us, her spirit lives on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. She will be remembered for her warm smile, kind heart, and her faith.
She is preceded in death by her mother and father, Gladies and Alfred Williams, husband, Donald Ray Perry, and mother-in-law Ollie Mae Perry.
She is survived by her sisters, Deloris Murphy, Pearl Jackson, Carolyn Darnell and husband Donald, Shirley Williams, and her brother, Alfred Mister and wife Betty. Sister-in-laws, Dianne Perry and Linda Perry. Her children, Donta Perry and wife Lacee, Dakota Perry, and Denycea Perry. One granddaughter, Charlee Perry, numerous nieces and nephews, and her fur baby, Penelope Perry.
During this time of grief, we must not mourn Linda for she is now living in a constant state of peace, love, and tranquility. We must celebrate her and keep her memory alive by sharing memories and speaking of the impact she had on everyone around her. Shed a tear now, but also celebrate that she is at peace. The bible says, “Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.” Matthew 5:4. Even in her final moments she wanted to ensure that her sisters and children were all taken care of. This act of selflessness goes to show that Linda had a heart unlike any other.
Funeral services entrusted to Hubbard Kelly Funeral Home. Services are as follows: Thursday, August 3rd, visitation from 5-8PM. Celebration of life at Hope Alive Church on Friday, August 4th, at 10AM. The family would like to say thank you to everyone who has reached out, prayed, provided meals, and loved us during this difficult season.
