She was born in Slaton,Texas, July 1, 1937 and was the oldest of five girls.. Her family moved to Seagraves, Texas where she started and completed school. She graduated Seagraves High School in 1956, She would later in life earn a Bachelor Degree in Psychology in 1975 from the newly established UTPM.
She went to work for El Paso Products in 1975 and retired 25 years later. She was promoted to Lab Supervisor in 1990.
She is survived by her son, William Edward Young and wife Kathy of Antelope, CA and two sisters, Joyce Lee Roller of Dallas and Sandra Ann Moore of Rowlett.

A memorial service for Lena will be held Wednesday, May 8, 2024 at 10:30 AM at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home, 601 N Alleghaney Ave, Odessa, Texas 79761.
