Kathryn "Janett" Frentress

The Celebration of her Life will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, December 30, 2023, at Stonegate Odessa Church with Pastor Gary Douglass officiating with Jen McNally-Burke assisting. Services are under the direction of Frank W Wilson Funeral Directors.

Janett was born July 22, 1949, in Lubbock, Texas. After graduating from Texas Tech University, she began working for ECISD in Elementary Education.

Most of her teaching career was at Travis Magnet Elementary, later moving to ECISD administration in Information Technology. She worked for ECISD 38 years. Janett earned her Masters Degree from UTPB in 1984. After retirement she committed to work part-time at West Texas Gifts of Hope in Odessa, first volunteering then as a staff member.

Many areas of the community were served by Janett. She taught exercise classes at the YMCA for over 27 years. Loving the outdoors and all living things she became a Master Gardener serving a term as President. As an active member of P.E.O. she held various offices including President and Treasurer.

Janett loved being a member of Stonegate Odessa Church where she faithfully served on the Production Teams in Midland and Odessa and at Kids Camp during the summer.

She was preceded in death by Parents John and Kathryn Frentress and brother John Thomas Frentress.

Survivors include her sister Judy Tartt and husband Jim, nieces Christine Haskell and husband Gary of Midland, TX, Angela Metcalf of Roanoke, TX, Erica Wood of Lubbock, TX, Staci Tapp of Columbia, TN, great nieces & nephew Olivia Haskell, Brandon and Allison Metcalf and an aunt, Marilyn Iffert of Lubbock, TX, and many beloved cousins.

Janett will be greatly missed by all who love her and we have the assurance that we who believe in Jesus Christ will see her again one day.
