Katherine Ethel Thompson Neatherlin-Pruiett

Katherine Neatherlin-Pruiett (Miss Dave) a longtime resident of Ector County passed thru her journey here on earth and has gone to be with her Sweet Jesus. She passed away Thursday, August 29, 2013 at the Hospice House. She was born June 18, 1921 at 4 o’clock on a Saturday afternoon in Knox County, Munday, TX to William Walter & Rilla (Burnett) Thompson. When she was two years old they shipped all their furniture and livestock by train box car to Seagraves, TX and she spent all of her growing up and school years there until her marriage to David M. Neatherlin on November 3, 1934 They moved to Odessa, and raised 2 boys, where she worked 13 years for Sunshine Laundry, and ran Dave’s Trading Post for 17 years. She then was a caregiver for 15 years. She married David Neatherlin November 3, 1934 and he preceded her in death in 1974. She is also preceded in death by her parents, sons, Marshall & Leonard Neatherlin Sr, sisters, Dale Beasley, Billie McBride, Thelma Yager. She is survived by (5) grandchildren, Leonard Neatherlin & wife Elaine of Gardendale, Ronnie Reed & husband Ron of Ironton, Missouri, David Neatherlin of Nickerson, Kansas, Joni N. Paul & husband Ted of Keller, TX, Julie Neatherlin of Charleston, NC, daughter-in-law, Marilyn Gage & husband Bob of Odessa, (10) great-grandchildren & (14) great-great-grandchildren.

There will be a visitation from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, August 30, 2013 at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 31, 2013 at Hubbard –Kelly Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Matt Wilson officiating. Interment will follow at Ector County Cemetery, Odessa Section.
