Jim was a loving husband, father and grandfather, who cherished spending time with his family. Jim took an active role in the lives of his grandchildren. Jim spent many a day in the stands or driving a golf cart cheering on his grandchildren.
Jim graduated from Texas Tech University and was a respected educator who taught for over 30 years at Odessa Permian High School. In 1976, Jim coached the golf team to their only state championship win on record.
Outside of the classroom, Jim had a deep love for golf, Texas Tech sports and cards. Over the years, he spent countless hours on the golf course. He loved the challenge of the game and the camaraderie that came with it. Jim was a proud supporter of Texas Tech and loved nothing more than to cheer them on wearing his Red Raider gear. His annual Lake Brownwood event with friends was something he valued and spoke fondly of, especially in the last few years. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Our father was a kind, generous and loving man who made an impact on the lives of everyone he met. He will be greatly missed, but we take comfort in knowing that he lived a full happy life doing what he loved and surrounded by people he loved. Rest in peace Dad.
