Sgt. Gabriel Alonso Hernandez, 47, of Odessa passed away Sunday, April 15, 2012 at Medical Center Hospital. He was born May 10, 1964 in El Paso to Marcial & Guadalupe(Murillo) Hernandez. He married Cindy Jaramillo October 14, 2000 in Midland. He was a police officer for the City of Odessa for 15 years.
He loved to fish, cook, BBQ and be around his family. He was known for his famous brisket. He loved to make everyone laugh. He was a good mentor. His hobbies included hunting with his son, and loving his Adrianna, AKA “Princess.” He loved is kids more than anything. He was so proud of Adrianna and Gabriel. He loved his law enforcement family and everyone was special to him. He was a loving husband & father who would do anything for his family. He will be truly missed by everyone. We love you with all of our hearts, we will see you again.
He is preceded in death by his sister, Leticia Hernandez.
He is survived by his wife, Cindy Hernandez of Odessa, his parents, Marcial & Guadalupe Hernandez of Odessa, son, Gabriel Hernandez, daughter, Adrianna Hernandez both of Odessa, brothers, Eufemio Hernandez of Midland, & Armando Hernandez & wife Kukina of Odessa, sister, Martha Ruth Hernandez of Odessa, mother & father-in-law, Eleve & Antonia Jaramillo of Odessa, brother-in-law, Chris & Bertha Jaramillo of Odessa, sisters-in-law, Christine Jones & husband Bob of Odessa, Leslie Jaramillo & boyfriend, Bobby of Midland, several uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many co-workers.
A Rosary will be said at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 17, 2012 at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home. Mass will be said at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 18, 2012 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church with Monsignor James Bridges officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
