Esther Cerna Montanez

She was 80 years old. She was born on May 2, 1936 to Ambrosio and Juanita Cerna in Santa Elena, Coah. Mex.

She married Justo Saenz Montanez on March 3, 1957 in Del Rio, TX. She loved cooking and gardening and loved singing and praising the Lord. Alongside our father, she was instrumental in helping build up the Spanish Assembly of God Church in Odessa, TX and Midland, TX.

She pastored along with our father at Templo Siloe Assambleas de Dios in South Ranchito in Odessa, TX

and both were founders of Templo Jerusalem in Midland, TX , then known as El Lirio de los Valles.

They also founded Templo Monte Calvario now known as Catedral de Alabanza in Odessa, TX in 1996,

her daughters formed Linaje Escogido Ministries-Odessa.

She loved singing and playing her tambourine at church and she loved the Lord with all her heart.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Justo Saenz Montanez and her parents, Ambrosio and Juanita Cerna and her brothers, Adolfo, Isidro, Ernesto, Jesus, and sisters, Maximina and Matilde.

Those left to cherish her memory, Esther & husband Jesse Aguilar of Dallas, Janie & husband Gary Malcolm, Jessica Montanez Caruso and Mary & husband Hugo Morales all of Odessa. Grandchildren, Henry Jason & Janelle Aguilar, Justin W. Malcolm, Christine Caruso & husband Zabdiel Saenz, Great-grandchildren, Estefan Aguilar, Levi Aguilar, Clara Saenz, Brayden Saenz & Diana Saenz.

Visitation will be held Today Friday June 10, 2016, from 8am to 9pm with a Prayer Service at 7pm at Frank W. Wilson Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 10am, Saturday June 11, 2016 at Latter Rain Worship Center, 305 E. 19th with Pastor Craig DeArmond officiating.

Interment will follow at Ector County Cemetery Los Angeles Section.
