Elizabeth Goulet, 94, of Odessa was called home to our Lord May 13, 2013.She was born September 28, 1918 to Manuel Barboza and Fredalina Demuth in Fall River, Massachusetts where she grew up. Elizabeth was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
She worked in a garment factory and for Firestone during WWII making rubber products for the war effort. She married Leo Goulet in 1941. They had four children: Normand, Thomas, Patricia and Marie.
In 1957 she followed her husband to Texas settling first in Midland then Odessa 3 years later. She was mostly a homemaker but entered the workforce when extra income was needed working at Furr’s cafeteria and ECISD school cafeterias a few years.
She was preceded in death by her husband Leo, daughter Marie Goulet Miller, grandson Matthew Springer, her parents, and a sister Irene.
She is survived by her sister Dolly Machado of Sterling, VA, her sons Normand Goulet of Odessa, Thomas Goulet and wife Gloria of Stamford, TX, and daughter Patty Springer and husband Mike of Odessa. Grandchildren are Brian Springer at Dyess AFB, Laura Springer Aguilera and husband David at Ft. Hood, TX, Chris Springer and wife Liz of Odessa, Amelia Springer of Odessa, Ricky Goulet of Merkel, TX, 8 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be at Frank W. Wilson Funeral Home Friday May 17th from 6-8pm.
Chapel services will be Saturday May 18th at 10am at Frank W. Wilson Chapel with Rev. Les Jackson officiating followed with burial at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Services are entrusted to Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.
