Edward Ray Rios, of Odessa, Texas passed away on Tuesday, March 22, 2022 at the age of 57. Known to most as “Eddie," was born September 18, 1964. Eddie worked as a custodian for many years with ECISD.
He was a kind soul and a kid at heart whose sense of humor kept everyone who knew him laughing with never a dull moment. A real Looney Tune character himself, Eddie would often be heard quoting cartoons, funny movies, or at times friends and family members with hilarious spot-on voices and mannerisms to match. The laughter he had brought to so many of our family get-togethers will leave a huge void, but these treasured and happy memories of our beloved Eddie will live on forever and ever.
A devout catholic, Eddie attended church and was a member of the choir, singing and playing his guitar at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church. As a child, he even wanted to become a priest, but for those who knew him well, knows why this may not have been the best option for him or the congregation. He was the most loving husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend. Those left to cherish his memory are his mother, Olivia Rios of Odessa, his loving wife, Holga Rios, his daughter, Ava Jolene Rios, his brothers, Gilbert Rios of Midland and John Robert (Bobby) Rios and spouse Martha Rios, and his sister, Mary Valdez and spouse Valdo Valdez, along with his nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father, Juan D. Rios. Your family misses you so much and be careful with the jokes you tell up in heaven!
The family will receive friends for visitation on Thursday, March 31, 2022 from 5-9 PM at the funeral home. The Rosary will be recited at 7 PM. Funeral services will be held at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home on Friday, April 1, 2022 at 1 PM with Fr. Ryan Rojo officiating.
