Edith Marie Freeman, age 87, passed away Saturday at the Odessa Hospice House. Edith was born on July,2 1924 in Dixonville, PA and was the oldest of 9 brothers and 2 sisters. She married Jim G Freeman in January 1959 in El Paso, Texas and they had one son, Dallas T Freeman, in September of 1961. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Edith worked at UTPB for 21 years before retiring from the food service business. Her hobby and life’s pleasure was cooking and baking for her family and friends. Those left to cherish Edith’s memory is her son Dallas Freeman and his wife Christy, their children, Robert Madrid, Kristina McCary and Kasey Freeman; her great Grandkids, Kindle Madrid, Devan Madrid and Rylee Ramos; six brothers: Arnold Nielson (Charlotte) of Wichita, Kansas, Vern Nielson (Connie) of Cave Junction, Oregon, Lee Nielson (Linda) of Winnemucca, Nevada, Don Nielson (Juanita) of Denver, Colorado, Harold Nielson (Ruth Ann) of Kent Washington, and Loyd Nielson (Pat) of Rapid City, South Dakota; two sisters, Irene Sexton (Harold) of Casper, Wyoming and Mary Osborn (Clint) of Glendale, Arizona, and large number of nieces and nephews, and cousins. Services of Remembrance for Edith will be held at the Odessa Funeral Home, 1700 N Jackson, at 7:00pm Friday, March 9th, 2012 and a visitation time with the family will immediately follow services. Edith will be then taken to Colorado to be laid to rest next to her Mother and Father at Crown Hill Cemetery, Wheatridge, CO.
