Doris "Patsy" by her Daddy & "June" by her husband- Bill June Beasley Medler McAllister

She was born June 19, 1925, in Fairfield, ILL, to Brose Lymon and Mabel Glenn (Coulson) Medler. She graduated from Fairfield High School in 1944. She came to Odessa in 1945, where she met and married JH (Bill) Beasley on Oct 7, 1946, during the first oil boom.

They were both longtime members of the Sixth and Jackson Church of Christ since 1956. They raised their family of five girls, Billie, Linda, Becky, Bobbie, and Debra. Upon her arrival in Odessa, she first worked as a waitress at the White Kitchen Café, in the 60’s at Henderson Collins Drug behind the makeup counter, 70’s at Odessa College in the SUB and Bookstore. Her last job was at Region 18 Educational Service Center where she retired as media clerk in 1987. She married Melvin (Mr Mac) McAllister in Nov. 27, 1990. He preceded her in death in May 30, 2008.

She is preceded in death by her parents, first husband J.H. “Bill” Beasley, second husband Melvin Dall McAllister, three brothers, Guy, Donald and Richard Medler; three sisters Geraldine Clodfelter, Marjorie Medler and Madeline Worley. She is survived by her daughters Billie Joyce Cochran and husband Larry of Gilmer, TX, Linda Jo Harrison and husband Randy of Odessa, Rebecca Dianne McElroy and husband John of Humble, TX, Bobbie Denise Warren and husband Barry of Paris, TX, Debra Kay Halbert and husband David of Odessa; ten grandchildren Tammy Briggs and husband Tim, Carol York and husband Robert, Shelbi Burton and husband Chris, Coby Harrison and, wife Kristi, Amanda Bloom and husband Evan, Tyrel Warren, Myra Rodgers and husband Kevin, Matthew Halbert and wife Brittany, Allison Sessions, and Brittain Sager and husband Brian; thirteen great-grandchildren Phillip, Krystal, and Whitney Cochran, Taylor, Brandon and Marissa Sides, Noah Harrison, Grace and Faith Burton, Daphne Sessions, Anna and Luke Warren, and Sydney Bloom; two great-great-grandchildren Aleck and Sidney Cochran; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

Palbearers will be Coby Harrison, Noah Harrison, Matthew Halbert, Tyrel Warren, Chris Burton, and Kevin Rodgers. Honorary Pall Bearers will be: Tammy Briggs, Carol Cochran, Shelbi Burton, Amanda Bloom, Myra Rodger, Allison Sessions, and Brittain Sager.

A visitation with friends and family will be held 6:00 to 8:00 pm Friday, July 18, 2014, at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, July 19, 2014, at 6th and Jackson Church of Christ with Robert Parham officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
