Debbie loved all animals and probably would have loved her neighbor’s dog if it didn't attack her cats but we are sure there was still some love in her heart for it. She cared deeply about caring for animals that had been abandoned or lost. She also found great fulfillment in her woodworking skills and the master pieces she created. Crochet was an easy hobby as she could create any item with very little effort. Plants couldn't be more happy in her care. She was quite the green thumb and could make any plant thrive. Debbie’s children will so fondly remember her beautiful singing voice. Her version of Janis Joplin’s Mercedes Benz rivaled the original.
Debbie was a true patriot who supported the military and especially all her relatives who served. Neighborhood watch was a passion and her commitment was shared by her neighbors watching over her in return. Debbie will be greatly missed by her loved ones near and far.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband Gary Nation, her sister Becky Fuller, her mother Eve Laverne Kelly, her father, Edward Fuller Jr., her stepbrother Tomas Kelly, and her granddaughter Kathleen “Katie” Elliott. She is survived by her children Melissa Farmer of Odessa, Charles Nation of Odessa, Darlis Meyer of Eagle River, AK, and Kathleen Farmer of Anchorage, AK, her siblings DeeDee Scott of Garden City, KS, Ben Fuller of Mt Vernon, IN, Eddie Fuller of Liberal, KS, Bill Fuller of Round Top, TX, James Kelly, Jacqueline Hourigan, Karen Diver, Elizabeth Lenz. She adored her grandchildren Thomas (Kim) Cooksey, Steven (Sara) Cooksey, Sierra Cooksey, Logan Shaw, Joshua Farmer, Jordan (Miranda) Elliott, Morgan (Wesley) Smith, and her great grandchildren Dakotah, Devan, Emma, Keegan, Jordan Jr, Cadence, Micah, and Estelle.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that a donation be made in her name to Katie’s Handprint (an organization supporting Alaskan families impacted by childhood cancer). It was started in honor/memory of Debbie’s granddaughter Katie. www.katieshandprint.org
