Betty Jean Hinson Baxter

Betty Jean Baxter, 85, passed away Sunday, January 15, 2012, at Midland Memorial Hospital in Midland.

She was born November 14, 1926, to Vurl and Jewel Belle Yeates Hinson in Roaring Springs, TX. She married Sidney A. Baxter November 29, 1942. She retired in 1992 as bookkeeper for Jack Arledge Cadillac.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her son Carey Baxter and her great-granddaughter, Kaitlin Whitfield.

She is survived by her sons, Tommy Baxter and wife Johnnie of Midland, TX, Benny Baxter and wife Laverne and Eddy Baxter, all of Odessa; brother, John Hinson of Afton, TX, sister, Sylvia Belle Rogers and husband Kenneth Young of Fort Worth, TX, grandchildren, Terry Vurl Baxter and wife Cathy, Katheryne Melissa Hallmark and husband Jason, Janie Marie Whitfield, Marsha Diane Sowell and husband John, Serena Lyn Scitern, and Sheila Max Caudill and husband, Chad; great-grandchildren, Brittany Scitern, Ryan Aaron Baxter, Jeremy Ray Hallmark, Jaxon Lee Hallmark, Austin Brooks Baxter, Abigail Susannah Baxter, Kelsey Marie Whitfield, Jonathan Hunter Sowell, Brandon Keith Sowell, Zachary Caulk and Stephen Max Caudill; and great-great-grandson Jaxton Blake Scitern.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, January 18, 2012, at Hubbard-Kelly Chapel with the Rev. Jimmy Daniel officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
