Walter Malen passed away on Friday December 13, 2013 in his own home. He was born in New York, New York on September 2, 1924; the son of Walter Malinski and Mary Tocarchek Malinski.
Walter was a World War II veteran and served in the US ARMY. Walter Malen was married to Eleanor Elizabeth Marian in October 1957; They were blessed with a 52 year marriage. Eleanor pre-deceased Walter in November 2009
Walter was an active Real Estate Broker in Poughkeepsie, New York and retired to Rancho Carlsbad in Carlsbad, California.
Walter is survived by his niece Lorraine Slacin; two nephews, John B Marian II and Edmund R. Marian. Additionally, Walter is survived by his grandniece Amy Sanzo; two grandnephews Stephen L. Slacin, and Mark Slacin.
Walter was a life master bridge player and loved bridge. Walter was a kind, modest, gentle man and proud of his polish heritage. Nostrovia walt!
Final internment services will be held in the spring 2014 at St. Peter’s Cemetery in Poughkeepsie, New York.
