Maria Elena Castillo

Lennie was born 6/6/1951 in Santa Barbara, CA and spent most of her years in San Diego County. She married her high school sweetheart Miguel A. Castillo Sr. in 1971. She later had 2 children Cristina and Miguel Jr. She worked at AT&T for over 40 years and eventually retired in Oceanside, CA.

Lennie was the most kind-hearted, hard-working and giving person that you will ever meet. She always made sure everyone was taken care of and put a smile on everyone’s face. Lennie loved spending time with her family and going on trips when she could. She was fortunate to visit and have fun in Canada this past June with her sister Dolores. Lennie also loved Disneyland and made many memories with her family there. She was a San Diego Chargers fan and loved cheering them on whether they won or lost. Words can never fully express how amazing Lennie was. To know her was to love her.

Lennie is survived by her husband Miguel A. Castillo Sr., children Cristina Torres and Miguel A. Castillo Jr., grandkids Mateo and Gabriel Torres, and Lillian Woodard. She also leaves behind her brother Paul Cordero and sister Dolores Corona, as well as many other family members who will all miss her dearly.

Lennie was preceded in death by her father Jose Luis Ibave, mother Margaret L. Peterson, and sister Mousie Ibave.
