Steven Douglas Forman of Carlsbad, California passed away on Thursday December 8th, 2016. Steve, also known to friends and family as “Spanky” was born in Hollywood, California on October 20th, 1949. He graduated from Carlsbad High School in 1967 and went to work for the phone company. In 1975, Steve went on to work for Carlsbad Police Department for 27 years, retiring in 2002, only to stay on in the the crime lab. Steve, beloved son of Jack Leo Forman and Valerie Rose Forman, also leaves behind, Brother Jeff Forman, estranged wife Diana Forman, daughters Danica Forman Valdivia and Stephanie Forman Rosenthal, grandchildren Logan Valdivia, Cruz Valdivia, Nico Valdivia, Jack Rosenthal and Landon Rosenthal. Loved by many for his dry humor, you couldn’t be around him with out laughing so hard you’d end up in tears. Steve was quiet and didn’t express much emotion, but deep down he was loyal to a T, and one of the most generous people you’d ever meet. He lived a very simple life, but found pure joy in spending as much time as he could with his five grandchildren.
There will be a celebration of life on January 14th, 2017 at Laguna Riviera Park 4900 Park Dr
Carlsbad, CA 92008. The celebration will be from 12pm to 4pm and open to all. Please come and share stories to keep the memory of Steve alive.
