James Holt was born an only child, to Marie and Buell Noble Holt on November 9th, 1935 in the Ozark mountains of Fayetteville, Arkansas.
James, (Jim), grew up in Harrison, Arkansas and as a young teenager Jim earned the esteemed Rank of Eagle Scout, within the Boy Scouts of America. Jim starred on his high school football team starting on both the offensive & defensive sides of the ball. Jim helped lead the Harrison High School Golden Goblins to their undefeated Arkansas State Football Championship in 1952-1953. Jim also played the saxophone in the Harrison High School band.
Upon High School Graduation Jim pledged with the Sigma Chi Fraternity, Omega Omega Chapter, University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, and became an Honorary member of the Fraternity.
Jim grew up with the love of his life in Harrison, Ann Akers, and was married to her on August 26th, 1956. Ann and Jim had three boys, Todd the oldest, followed by Thad and Curtis.
After earning a B.S. Degree, (Jim Ultimately earned 2 Masters Degrees in Engineering during his life), from the University of Arkansas, Jim Proudly joined the United States Air Force and Honorably served for over 20 years as a C-5 Galaxy Aircraft Navigator. Jim garnered numerous awards & decorations while serving his Beloved United States, (U.S.), of America. One of his assignments was valiantly fighting during the vietnam war for over 1 year, flying on the AC119K "Stinger" with nearly 500 sortie missions, in order to support the American troops on the ground and disable the enemy. Jim Honorably retired at the rank of Lieutenant Colonel from the U.S. Air Force.
Following his Air Force Career, Jim served for 10 years working with Northrop Grumman Electronic Systems in Hawthorne, CA., designing military aircraft part systems.
Jim devoted his life to helping others within the Fellowship of the 12 Step Program. During over 34 years of sobriety Jim helped thousands of people gain Serenity . Jim held many service positions in the San Diego-Imperial Area, to include as the 52nd Delegate to the General Service Conference.
Jim was predeceased by his parents Marie & Buell, his wife Ann, and his sons Todd & Thad, and grandson David Noble Holt. Jim is survived by youngest son Curtis, and daughter-in-law Toyoko Holt.
Services will be held at Eternal Hills Mortuary & Crematory at Eternal Hills Memorial Park on September 15th at 10:00AM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Jim's name,
