George Tomio Morita was born in Lanai City, Hawaii on August 7,1933. He had 10 brothers and sisters. His older siblings are deceased with 3 remaining: Mae Takata from California, Ivan Morita and Marge Asato from Hawaii. George loved the country and when younger, he often went exploring with guys from his town. He joined the boys scouts and worked to become an Eagle Scout where he learned to respect, love and honor his Country. He learned how to keep bees, raise pigeons and learned to be self-sufficient. Through working and earning his own money, George bought his own bike allowing his siblings to learn how to ride a bike.
George graduated from Lanai High School with 35 others in his senior class in 1951. He went on to the University of Hawaii, in Honolulu, where he received a 4-year scholarship, boxing his way through college. He worked many jobs for his room and board and graduated in finance. He joined the Armed forces for 3 years and served in Korea working in finance. After the service, George worked for a few jobs previous to his employment at North American Rockwell, where he worked for 28 years before he retired. In 1963, he married Ruth Koshi from Kurtistown, Hawaii and they have two daughters, Corrine and Jennifer Morita. Corrine has three children Emi, Maia and Koji Arriola, while Jennifer has one son, Joseph Tomio Lin. George has numerous nieces and nephews scattered throughout the islands of Hawaii and the United States. George encountered the Lord Jesus in midlife and loved the Lord Jesus. He went on several missionary trips to Mexico, Brazil, and Africa. He and his wife traveled extensively before he became ill. George peacefully passed away at home and entered his eternal home on October 18, 2021.
