Diana Jean Truhlar was known as many things to many people. She was a loved one, a friend, and someone special. To family and friends who knew her best, Diana will be remembered as a very exceptional person. She touched the hearts of everyone she met.
She was the daughter of Donna and John McCrary. Diana grew up in Beaumont CA.
Diana was raised with six siblings. She had four older brothers Johnny, Larry, Dennis, and Ronald and two older sisters Brenda and Kathy. Diana and her siblings experienced rivalries typical of a growing family, but they shared many life experiences over the years.
As a young girl, Diana had a number of interests. Like most children, she enjoyed playing and making up games. She was curious about the world around her and was often eager to explore it. In her spare time she liked sewing, going to the beach, camping, listening to music and laughing. However, to Diana, the most fun to be had was simply playing and spending time with her friends.
A typical teenager, Diana had a fairly happy high school experience, making that critical transition from adolescence to adulthood. She graduated from Carlsbad High School in 1979. One of her favorite things to brag about was that she made the costumes for the drama club.
Always considered an awesome friend to those she knew, Diana enjoyed a broad group of acquaintances and several very close friends during her lifetime. While growing up, some of her best friends were Lori, Jill, Andrea, and Sandy "Big Red". Later in life, she became friends with Teena, Becky, Gloria, Terry, Jeannie, Maureen, Jeannine, and Deeann.
On May 21, 1989 Diana exchanged wedding vows with Dwight Buddy Truhlar at Ole Hanson Beach Club of San Clemente, CA. Empathic and loyal, Diana was committed to making her new family happy.
Diana worked hard to be a good mother to her children and she did her best to fulfill their needs. Diana was blessed with Four Children, Three Son's Michael Shedley, Jacob Truhlar, and Austin Truhlar and one Daughter Valerie Walker. Another blessing for Diana was the gift of Seven Grandchildren, Briana, Chloe, Wyatt, Shayla, Hailey, Ashley, and Nathan.
Fortunately, Diana enjoyed what she did for a living. Her primary occupation was day care. Diana always loved children and held a special place in her heart for every child she watched.
Diana enjoyed her leisure time by taking part in various hobbies. Her favorite pursuits were scrap booking, sewing, camping, playing with her kids and grandkids, and shopping. She was content to enjoy her favorite pastimes alone but was also willing to share her interests with others.
Diana enjoyed traveling and time away on vacations. It was a chance for her to renew and relax, to visit new places and experience new things. Favorite vacations included road trips to Kansas, Oregon, and Arizona. Also camping and dirt bike riding in the desert.
Diana was a lover of animals and cherished her pets. One of her favorites was Alvin, a 1/2 Persian and 1/2 Himalayan cat. They were best friends for 15 years.
Diana fought a brave 16 year battle against cancer. She is survived by her husband Dwight and Children Michael, Valerie, Jake, and Austin and Grandchildren Chloe, Briana, Shayla, Hailey, Ashley, Wyatt, and Nathan.. Services were held at Eternal Hills.
Simply stated, Diana was a good and kind person, an individual who will for all time be remembered by her family and friends as being a caring and giving person, someone who was a vital part of their lives. Diana leaves behind her a legacy of life-long friendships and many cherished memories. Everyone whose life she touched will always remember Diana Jean Truhlar.
