It is with heavy hearts his sisters are announcing that Antonio Jr Calderon Mendiola passed away on July 20th, 2024 at the young age of 19. He was also dearly known as Toni and Junior. Junior was a gentle, kind, loving, loyal, and bright individual who only got to live a short life.
Although he passed at a young age, Junior accomplished much in his life. He was able to graduate from Twin Oaks High School, obtain his first job, and was in the process of joining the Marine Corps. Junior will be remembered as the gentle giant who towered over his short family and always gave the best smiles and laughs. He will be remembered as our baby brother who had a passion for Michael Jackson, Jurassic Park, and Harry Potter. We will always remember him calorie counting the bread rolls he would eat from Texas Roadhouse and saying how much he would have to workout the following days. Junior was very loyal to his friends and family. If he wasn’t either eating adobada fries or a breakfast burrito then he would be at the gym.
Junior is the baby of our family and will forever be missed. Looking through photos his smile radiates and we can only describe his smile in person as infectious, warm, and loving. His laugh and his giggle at the end were very contagious. His hugs gave you a sense of comfort and protection.
Junior is survived by his mother, father, siblings, nieces, nephews, and his dog Puma. Through his passing we have learned how loved he truly was but not only by his family but by his teachers, friends, military recruiters, and community members. He loved his family, dog Puma, and his friends. Although he is no longer physically here with us, he will forever be in our hearts wherever we go. His loss will leave a large hole in many hearts. This world has lost an incredible human being and is now watching over us. He will be our protector and guardian angel for us all, until we meet again.
Our family would like to give thanks to friends, family, neighbors, and community members for all your prayers, thoughts, donations, and support during this difficult time.
